Health and Recent Trips- A September Update
Co-laborers in Christ,
There has been so much activity since our last update so let’s jump right into it.
Kim update: Most of you know, Kim had an infection that came on after surgery that put her back in the hospital for 3 days. She was released from the hospital on 8/10 with some antibiotics and was feeling better while on the antibiotics. When she finished her antibiotics last week, her infection came back. The doctors did another CT on 8/29, and we are waiting on the results to determine the next steps to dealing with the infection. Please pray that the doctors are able to determine the next steps to dealing with the infection and that Kim would be healed of that infection.
North Africa: Due to Kim’s surgery and recovery being delayed, neither of us were able to go to North Africa to work with the partners there. In God’s provision, there were already Live Global workers going who were able to help with the trip. The ultimate frisbee and soccer training went great. We are so thankful for the teammates that God provided to teach these sports. The participants really enjoyed the opportunity to get instruction in how to lead training and leagues for both.
At the sports camp, many of the youth came from different areas of the major city to attend. Not only did they get to play lots of different sports and games, they also got to hear Biblical teachings about how their Creator sees them, is with them, loves them, and came to die and rose again so that they could have have their sins forgiven and have eternal life in Him if they turn from their sins and trust in Jesus. Each day they also had small group time where they discussed various topics surrounding the question of where do I find my identity. This created a space for the youth to open up and share from their hearts. This camp is a great connection point now for the pastor and his team to continue to do follow up in these next couple of months. (Pictures below)
Romania: Due to Kim’s infection and hospitalization, I was the only one who was able to go to Romania. God had assembled an amazing team from Kent City Baptist Church. They were an actual answer to prayer as Kim and I were praying for a team for months before they agreed to join. In Romania, we were putting on a church wide VBS/Retreat. Each day included small group Bible study, worship in song, personal testimonies, game times, craft times, ESL classes, and an evening chapel where we taught from Colossians the theme of “ Jesus is the Greatest “. We focused on how knowing Christ personally changes every aspect of our lives. The teachings of the Eastern Orthodox Church are deeply entrenched in them, so being able to share with them that they can personally know Christ through reading the Bible was vital. Please be praying for a young man, Alex, who I had many great gospel conversations with. Please join us in praying for a bountiful harvest from the seeds that were sown this summer! (Pictures below)
Going forward we are searching for teams for the 2026 schedule and planning the 2027 schedule. Please let us know if you are interested in serving on a short term missions team. These are tangible opportunities to do real gospel work and see what God is doing around the world. If you love Jesus and love people, we have a place for you.
Prayer requests:
Pray for Kim health as the doctors decide how to kill this infection.
Pray for Alex and many others in Romania that as the church continues to minister to them that they would respond to the gospel with repentance and faith.
Pray for us as we work on raising the remaining 27% of the monthly support we need. We are hoping to do that in the next 6-8 months.
Pray for trips that are planned for 2026.
Pray for trips we are planning for 2027.
Praises:
We are at 73% of the support we need and God continues to provide! That includes new churches like Faith Christian Fellowship, Bancroft Congregational Church, and First of Baptist Church of Otsego.
We had great teams for the North Africa and Romania trips. We feel blessed to be able to work with these wonderful people.
Thankful for the great partners all around the world that God has given us.
